Based at a stone cottage on the north coast of Kangaroo Island the natural environment and workshops will help artists to totally immerse themselves in their passion of songwriting and expression while promoting collaboration without the distractions of modern-day society. The cottage is beautifully positioned overlooking Investigator Strait towards Yorke Peninsula. The air is pure and the clarity of the night sky is breathtaking.

Artists will find themselves looking out at a beautiful seascape while recording inspiring raw and emotional performances to be captured digitally.

The property features a beautiful rocky coastline, an amazing abundance of wildlife including kangaroos, wallabies, echidnas, goannas, wedge tail eagles, sea eagles, rainbow lorikeet, crimson rosella, blue wren, dolphins, seals and if you time it right the southern right whale. The wildflowers are another beautiful gift from nature which flourish almost year round.

Historically the 100 acre property contains a huge heritage listed mulberry tree which is a unique survivor from a colonial garden dating back to 1877. Believed to be taken from a clipping from the original Reeves Point Mulberry Tree (also the Jacobs Creek Mulberry Tree originated from this tree). The first European settlers in South Australia landed and settled at Kangaroo Island’s Reeves Point, near Kingscote. The water supply at this site was found to be inadequate and most moved on. Those who stayed planted the Mulberry Tree in 1836 or 1837. It is believed to be the last remaining tree of the earliest plantation of European trees in South Australia.
